Please join us in a day of Prayer and Fasting.
We are encouraging those in our church to participate in a time of prayer and fasting on Thursday. People can have very different experiences with fasting. Some have fasted many times and some have never. Individuals’ abilities to fast can also depend on their health. Because of that we are not designating something specific from which to fast. Be attuned to the Holy Spirit and see where He is leading you. Some may feel led to fast for the entire day, some only during daylight hours, some from one meal, and others may choose to fast from technology or some other comfort or leisure activity.
Fasting is a pronouncement and recognition that it is by the Word of God from which our strength and life derive. It is to recognize our answers for this virus do not come from our strength but from the Lord. Please also pray for this to be a humbling time for people and they would hear God and turn back to Him. Pray for God to give us healing and for the light of dawn to break forth.
Isaiah 58:6-9, “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am.”
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
